Today I had to carry the ashes of what used to be my grandfather out of the funeral home. Definitely the most depressing thing ever, it really makes you think about things.

Today I went to the hospital because my grandpa wanted to see my brother and I because apparently he knows that he is going to die soon. He has had cancer for about 9 months and he now has it in both lungs and can't really breathe. I was just thinking how awful and scary it would be to be sitting in a hospital knowing that you are going to die soon. I'm just glad that he has lived a long (78 years) and healthy life and that he won't suffer too much. He was talking to my brother and I, and he told us that he won't be going on life support, that he'll just go when it is his time to go. My parents are going to sit there and watch him die but that's a little to much for me so I'm back at home just thinking about it.

Thanks for everything grandpa, I wish I had known you better.

Summer [May. 22nd, 2005|02:42 pm]
Dunno what I'm going to do all summer yet, still haven't found a job, but I haven't really been trying to hard. This Saturday I'm running in the Bayshore Marathon again I hope that running 2 marathons in a 1 month span doesn't kill me. My parents think that I should stop going to MSU and finish school somewhere else since I didn't get accepted to the engineering college which I have been taking classes for. So I might go somewhere like Macomb (LOL) Central or Lawrence Tech, somewhere that has something I am interested in, I guess. So far this summer I've basically just sat here and done nothing, I don't really know who's here in Sterling Heights but I mean I still have the same phone number and stuff, yeah. I wanna play some tennis this summer. I went back over my old journal entries and deleted most of them because 90% of them were about being depressed or pissed off which is pretty retarded, only good things from now on. And I guess that's enough random sentences for today.

Boston [Apr. 19th, 2005|06:55 pm]
[mood | sore]

Just got back from Boston and I must say that city rocks. I finished the Boston Marathon in 3:01:29 in 710th place out of 22,000 people and it was pretty sweet, basically the entire course was lined with fans cheering all the runners on and it was just a really cool experience. Even though the course was pretty tough and it was quite hot out, about 70 degrees and sunny, hopefully I can make it back every year :).

[music |Pearl Jam - Alive (Acoustic/Live)]

Well, I found some pictures of me looking very funny while running the crim race Here and they updated the standings so I was actually 88th overall and 4th in my age division (16-19). This weekend I guess I am going to go up north with my family 'cuz the roommates are going to U of M and I don't really feel like going there so ya, this weekend doesn't look too exciting but what are ya gonna do. My classes are fairly tough but I think I should be able to manage somewhere between 3.0 and 4.0 again which is all I need. I applied to the College of Engineering (Civil) simply because I have to, hopefully I will be able to fo to U of M or somewhere for architecture either at the semester or after this year. That's all I got for now, gotta hurry to catch dinner.

Vacation [Jul. 11th, 2004|07:04 pm]
Just got back from the first family vacation I agreed to go on in a few years. We went to New Jersey to visit relatives and also to see the Yankees play the Tigers. Of course, the Tigers lost the game we went to, but they won the series 2 games to 1, huzzah. Then we went to Virginia Beach for 2 days, which was pretty cool. After that we went to Williamsburg which turned out to be a Disney-like tourist trap with reconstructed (so all rebuilt) buildings from the late 18th Century. While we were there we went to Jamestowne and Yorktown which were both more interesting. Instead of coming home, we took a detour into Baltimore to catch an Orioles game which they won 7-2 against the pitiful Kansas City Royals. So the trip actually ended up being fun and it was quite nice to get out of Michigan, ugh. Now I have to get me a nice job so I can do these kind of things with people that aren't my family.

Saturday [May. 30th, 2004|11:44 pm]
[mood | tired]

So yesterday was the Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City. My goal going in was to run under 3 hours 10 minutes because that is the time that qualifies you for the Boston Marathon. At the halfway point i was at 1 hour 32 minutes, so I figured I would have a pretty good shot at my goal. Now what I think is the amazing part, I ran the 2nd 13.1 miles in 1 hour 29 minutes, 3 minutes fatser than the first half. I ended up passing about 50 or so runners in the second half of the race. My final time was 3:01.24 which was good for 26th out of 1004 runners. So, basically I was excited/happy for the first time in a while. Too bad I have no friends to even talk to about it, heh. O well. Anyway, the course was really cool, it was on a long, skinny peninsula type thing and we ran on a road that went right along the water, it was quite scenic and I will definitely go back. After the race I found Maurice (a.k.a. Mr. Allmacher) and talked to him for a little while (although I despised him in high school it was nice to talk to someone I knew.) Next goal: run under 3 hours, a 6:57 pace, maybe at Boston Marathon? We'll see.

Weekend [Mar. 29th, 2004|12:40 am]
[mood | annoyed]
[music |The Living End-Prisoner of Society]

Went home this weekend. Why?

Cuz it has become better to go home then stay here.

But on Saturday I ran a 5k and I got my best time ever by 21 seconds (17:15)

That is a good start on the one goal I have for the future, make the cross country team (at whatever college I'm at next year).

Also, signed up for a race on campus in April and the Lakeshore Marathon in Traverse City in May.

Hopefully the marathon will get me motivated to run a lot, I'm hoping to work up to at least 50 miles a week to get ready for that, then maybe if I get up to that much I'll keep it up all summer. If I do that I might have a shot at the team, if not just another letdown, which I'm now accustomed to.

Oya I wrote this entry because running is basically the only thing keeping me going right now, I'm soooo goddamn tired of school.

Man I really can't wait for summer.

HAHA [Mar. 24th, 2004|10:27 pm]
[mood | relaxed]
[music |Gob-Everyone Pushed Down]

Ya so I know I already posted today but this is worth post number two. During chemistry some guy walked into our classroom (containing approximately 300 kids) and yelled out "Anyone want some hot, spicy nuts?" The professor just kind of stood there in awe for a second then said "You have to leave." The kid then repeated himself a couple times and started to walk out when some kid in our class raised his hand. The yelling kid threw him a bag of hot, spicy nuts and walked out. When the kid had left, the professor, who seems to be a pretty cool guy, says, "Well now I've seen everything. I do kind of like those nuts though." I don't know if anyone finds this sequence of events funny but I sure as hell did. I think random people should just walk into college classrooms more often, it really spices things up. (Pun noticed but not intended)

College [Mar. 24th, 2004|02:35 pm]
[mood |artistic]
[music |Pink Floyd]

I have pretty much no motivation to do anything related to schoolwork, I think being in school for the past 13 years might have something to do with that (and maybe that I only missed one day of school in those 13 years). So here is what I accomplished in Calc 2 today.
Yeah so that is pretty much what I do in my classes, I just can't get myself to care enough to try hard. I'm still pulling around a 3.0 without trying so why try, right?
I dunno I'm thinking about maybe not coming back here either next year or Junior year. MSU is too limited on its talent-related majors like the fact that the only design-related majors are interior and textile design. WTF? No architecture or graphics design, nothing good. I must find somewhere with an architecture major, that IS what I want to be.

Gah, I'm late for chemistry god I hate that shit...

Nice Day [Mar. 21st, 2004|01:01 am]
[mood | thirsty]
[music |Clash-Tommy Gun]

Ah finally a nice day. Unfortunately I didn't realize that there were 30 mile an hour gusts of wind. That made my run a little strenuous, and tennis wasn't exactly easy. But it was fun. I miss playing tennis, stupid club team didn't even let me tryout, bastards.

Hopefully it'll at least stay above 32 degrees until next winter. You never know with this shitty state though. Ok I'm done.

Spring Break [Mar. 10th, 2004|12:30 am]
[mood | relaxed]
[music |Yes-And You and I]

Ya so it's spring break Sterling Heights style. I went to the Ford basketball game on Monday. I guess it was the first game of districts and they won 73-67. Quite a high-scoring and competitive game for high school, and it was actually kind of enjoyable. I saw Mr. Vento there but when I walked up to him he started talking to Scully who I guess is on spring break also, so then i stood there and waited for them to finish. When they did Vento just walked away like I didn't exist. Whate a fruitcake. I'll probably never see that guy again now. Oh well. Other than the basketball game I haven't been doing a whole lot just running and hitting up lifetime. Speaking of which, I saw Paul Lochirco there, lol, what a loser. Anyway, I dunno why I'm posting this really. There's nothing of importance that has happened or that I need to say but I'm bored as hell so ya. Tomorrow will be my first trip to any sort of doctor in over 2 years. Dermatologists, ha, they shouldn't even be considered doctors. I despise doctors in general and I'm sure this one will do nothing for me just like the rest of them. Bastards. OK I'm done.

Geetar [Feb. 17th, 2004|08:11 pm]
[mood | blank]
[music |The White Stripes-Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground]

Bored as hell so I figured maybe I'd give the old guitar a shot. Compared to other people I've heard play I suck ass so I'm attempting to move out of the "Oh he's still a beginner stage." I'm figuring to learn some more respected artists and some songs with actual chords meaning classic rock basically (since almost all songs coming out now are just power chords which anyone can learn in a few goddamn minutes). Anyway I'm looking at some Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Clash and others so maybe I can move up to the novice level or something. I don't know. My goddamn fingers hurt though, damn blisters. O well. 'Tis goin alright so far, much better than studying, reading, preparing anyhow.
